Sustainability@Bangor is our ongoing programme of improvements to how sustainable we are. Bangor University has made the bold decision to become known globally as The Sustainable University. Indeed, much of what we do here is founded on our desire to Bring Sustainability to Life; whether through our teaching, research or public engagement.
At Bangor University, The Sustainability Lab is the focal-point for sustainable development. We have developed the UniPlanet structure to help us understand and manage the University’s sustainable development under the commonly used sustainability structure: People, Planet and Prosperity.
John Hughes, Vice Chancellor of Bangor University is extremely supportive of the work of The Sustainability Lab Team to embed Sustainability@Bangor across campus and beyond in teaching, research and public engagement. He says:
“At Bangor University, sustainability is part of everything we do. It is how we function and why we function.”
