Get involved in Bangor Sustainability Week 2017
Bangor University are looking forward to a week of activities as part of the Bangor Sustainability Week from 1st-7th May. The Sustainability Lab is hosting a range of activities relating to economic, social and environmental sustainability to highlight how individuals can make a positive difference and to gather and develop ideas on how we improve what we’re already doing on our journey towards becoming The Sustainable University.
Bangor Sustainability Week is an opportunity to take some time to understand better how we as staff and students can use the principles and the five ways of working of the Well-being of Future Generations Act in our work to make a positive contribution to the Well-being Goals of Wales. The week will offer students, staff and our partners the chance to exchange ideas, learn more about The Sustainability Lab and our work, discover how to get involved and explore sustainability-related issues relevant to them.
The Bangor Sustainability Week contributes to the University’s Strategic Priority to become, in all aspects, ‘The Sustainable University’ and embed sustainability as a core principle across all aspects of the University. The Sustainability Lab, led by Dr Einir Young the University’s Director of Sustainability provides a corporate focus and leadership for this strategic priority.
The Sustainability Lab will be partnering with different university departments to carry out the series of activities throughout the week. Some of the participating departments include Undeb Bangor, Library Services, Human Resources, Students Union, Treborth, Graduate School, and the International Education Centre.
