10 job opportunities with “Byw a Bod” Performances Project

Featured, Jobs

Closing date 28th April, 2017 (5pm)

Arloesi will be recruiting and employing 10 young people (17-25 years old) from Gwynedd & Anglesey (they can be studying elsewhere).

This project seeks to pilot a new approach which will introduce the Welsh language and culture to visitors to Gwynedd & Anglesey through artistic performances.  This will be achieved by working with 10 creative young people (17- 25 years old) and establishing a “pop up” theatre company that will deliver a range of performances over the summer months.

Tourism is a major employer in Gwynedd & Anglesey and contributes significantly to the economy.  However the region’s language and culture is rarely given a platform within the industry as it may not be considered to have real economic value.

Therefore in addition to engaging with tourists to Gwynedd & Anglesey there will also be an emphasis on raising awareness within the tourism industry itself.  This will be achieved by collaborating with the main attractions in the counties to provide a pop up theatrical performances on site.  The aim would be to “de mystify” the language and culture and present it as a unique resource which can be presented along with region’s other assets e.g. landscape, food and environment.

There are 4 different roles within the project:

  1. Devise and perform (7 individuals performing)
  2. Marketing and promotion (1 individual)
  3. Administration and management (1 individual)
  4. Technical filming (1 individual)
